”My 2011 in albums”
Florence + The Machine, Ceremonials… Ok, I don’t even wanna go into explaining cause I would be here for days.
Les Amours Imaginaires OST… Ok, I know the movie nor the ost are from 2011, but I downloaded it this year and it has been with me playing all along this months.
Washed Out, Within and Without… well, it was an amazing, fresh and contemporary sound that got to pick me up when I was bored or tired.
Lia Ices, Grown Unknown… Well magic, magic, magic.
The Drums, Portamento… For when you were angry but at the same time you were moving on.
Austra, Feel it Break… Perfectly one of this year’s best albums.
Lykke Li, Wounded Rhymes… I waited so long for her to come up with new music and it didn’t disappoint me. I’ve been following her ever since the MySpace times… Oh, 2007.
Active Child, You are all I See… Well, magic, magic, magic.
Skywatchers, The Skywatchers Handbook… Great experiment, great results. It helped me to stay inspired.
M83, Hurry Up We’re Dreaming… three words: OH MY GOD.
Bon Iver, Bon Iver… Do I even need to explain?
Asobi Seksu, Rewolf… When it’s 3am in the morning and you’re to stressed out working on something, there’s nothing better than a charming voice.
Moby, Destroyed… I’ve never been a fan of his music, actually… but this album was actually one of my best companies this year.
Dustin O’Halloran, Vorleben… yet again, magic, magic, magic. I would say he is the reason why I still believe in music, plane simple. (Yes, I know the album is from late 2010, but whatever)
Never Let Me Go OST… ok so, probably best soundtrack this year? excellent tunes, melodies and you really get a concept from the movie transfered through music.
Thank you 2011, you were great.
